Adolescent Brain Study

Ages 13-14 and their caregiver

  • Participate in a longitudinal study about adolescent health and well-being (contacted annually for 3 years following the first assessment)

  • Participate at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg or Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute in Roanoke

  • Adolescent and caregiver participate in a short interview, fill out questionnaires, and play simple computer games

  • Adolescent (but not caregiver) gets a brain scan and receives a CD with MRI images of their brain

  • Each caregiver will be paid $75-$105, and the adolescent will also be paid $75-$105 (travel compensation will be provided at $0.20 per mile)
