Come on down to the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, and learn about The Amazing Adaptive Brain! This year's program will introduce such topics as how the brain adaptively controls and modifies our visual perception automatically; the causes, effects, and adaptions to epileptic seizures; the effects of getting older and adaptive strategies for how our brains learn and remember; and the mechanisms of pain, how our brains adapt to it, and new ways to treat it.
The school will run four evenings: March 14, 15, 16, and 17.
Brain School is free and open to the public, yet registration is required as space is limited. To register, visit our Eventbrite page or, especially if you have an older Internet Explorer browser, email us.
Free parking is available in the nearby lot and parking garage.
Brain School 2016 is part of the institute’s commemoration of Brain Awareness Week.
