U.S. Sen. Mark Warner investigated opportunities and challenges that face biomedical research and patient care at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute on Thursday. More than two dozen representatives from the university, the research institute, and Carilion Clinic were on hand, including (from left) VTCRI Executive Director Michael J.
