Warren Bickel honored with the Brady-Schuster Award
Warren K. Bickel, Ph.D.
Warren Bickel, a professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, received the MED Associates Brady-Schuster Award from Division 28 of the American Psychological Association. The award honors outstanding behavioral science research in psychopharmacology and substance abuse. He received the award at the annual American Psychological Association convention in August 2012.
Bickel is director of the Addiction Research Recovery Center, which is dedicated to understanding addiction and developing new treatments that repair the impaired decision-making processes common in addictive disorders. He is also the founder of the International Quit & Recovery Registry, an online research resource that seeks to understand what allows people to succeed in overcoming addiction, whether to tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or harmful behaviors.
