Michael Friedlander named Virginia Tech's associate provost for health sciences

Dr. Michael Friedlander was recently appointed Virginia Tech’s first associate provost for health sciences. In this new role, Dr. Friedlander is responsible for formalizing the creation of a Faculty of Health Sciences and guiding the creation of a university-wide graduate program focused on translational biology, medicine, and health.
Friedlander will retain his current positions as executive director of the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, senior dean for research at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, and professor of biological sciences and biomedical engineering and sciences at Virginia Tech.
