Ken Kishida, PhD
Ken Kishida, a research scientist at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, was recently invited to participate in a roundtable discussion funded by the John Templeton Foundation at The Helix Center in New York City.
The roundtable discussion will focus on the changing nature of free will. In addition to Kishida, the discussion will feature Akeel Bilgrami, the Sidney Morgenbesser Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University; Luis Cabral, the Paganelli-Bull Professor of Economics and International Business at the Stern School of Business at New York University; Brigette Kahl, a professor of new testament at the Union Theological Seminary in New York; and Simon Kochen, professor emeritus and senior research scientist in the mathematics department at Princeton University.
Kishida researches the underlying mechanisms of decision-making. He uses functional magnetic resonance imaging and fast-scan voltammetry to examine the neural markers of functional and dysfunctional neurological activity.
