Sarah Henrickson Parker, an assistant professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, was nominated to serve on a grant review panel for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of America’s healthcare system. The goal is to provide empirical evidence of how to better the healthcare system, as well as provide support in translating the evidence from research reports to clinical use.

The grant review panel, “Healthcare Safety and Quality Improvement Research,” considers applications for funding to research how to increase the quality and safety of healthcare.

The grant review panel will meet May 24 and 25 in Rockville, Maryland.

Henrickson Parker studies human factors in healthcare, with a specific focus on leadership and teamwork in critical settings, such as emergency rooms.
