About the Speaker:

Ron Davis is chair of neuroscience at the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida, where his research has broad implications for many psychiatric and neurological diseases, including schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and mood disorders. Among his notable findings was the codiscovery of a specific genetic mutation that impairs learning and memory. Davis is a former vice chair of research in the Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also directed the Center for Memory and Learning. Davis earned his doctorate in genetics from the University of California, Davis. He has received numerous awards for his pioneering research.
