Nucleotide Repeat Expansions: Inflammation, Neurodegeneration, and the Role of MicroRNA in Pathogenesis
Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology, Cognitive Neurology Division, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia
2 Riverside Circle, Roanoke, VA 24016
Nucleotide repeat disorders (NRDs) are some of the most feared and debilitating neurodegenerative and neuromuscular diseases. In her seminar, Dr. Foff will discuss the role of inflammation in mediating muscle damage in myotonic dystrophy, and explore a potential unifying mechanism amongst NRDs.
