Mary Lou Schwarzer
Mary Lou Schwarzer is an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Faculty Research Assistant in Fralin Biomedical Research Institute’s Neuromotor Clinic where she aids in the implementation of Intensive therapy protocols and managing clinical trials. Prior to joining the team at the Neuromotor Research Clinic Mary Lou served patients in their home environments by delivering meaningful Occupational Therapy Treatments to individuals. Her primary goal was to encourage performance of activities that were important to their daily life. She is enthusiastic to be a part of one of the nation’s premier biomedical and health sciences research organizations leading the effort to change pediatric rehabilitation to become more evidenced-based. In many ways, it has allowed her to merge her personal mission of helping individuals impacted by disabilities improve their individuals lives with the scientific delivery of evidenced-based services. She looks forward to helping develop many new efforts to further promote new evidenced-based practices in Pediatric Rehabilitation.
