Michael Christiano is the chief business officer at Tmunity – a private biotherapeutics company focused on saving and improving lives by delivering next-generation T cell immunotherapies to patients with devastating diseases. He has nearly 20 years of corporate development and transactional experience in the life sciences industry, contributing to company-building efforts in both start-up biotechnology and large pharmaceutical companies.
Most recently, Christiano was the vice president and head of transactions in global business development and licensing at Novartis AG. He spent seven years at the global health care company in various business development and licensing positions. While at Novartis, Mr. Christiano played an instrumental role in establishing many strategically important and innovative transactions across the Novartis enterprise, including alliances with the University of Pennsylvania (CAR-T) and Intellia Therapeutics (CRISPR).
Prior to Novarits, he held a series of increasingly senior business development and licensing positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, AVEO Oncology, and as co-founder of Karyopharm Therapeutics.
Christiano received his undergraduate degree in finance from Virginia Tech and his master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University.
